Putting Your Gardens to Bed” with Dr. S. Ann Earon

On Friday, August 1, 2025, the Beach Haven Public Library hosted an educational gardening program presented by Rutgers Master Gardener, Dr. S. Ann Earon.

In this free presentation titled “Putting Your Gardens to Bed,” Dr. Earon discussed helpful techniques for preparing gardens in the fall to ensure a smoother start come spring. Attendees learned how to:

  • Tidy and clean garden beds

  • Winterize trees, shrubs, and delicate plants

  • Properly prepare and store garden tools

  • Plan flower planting for the following year

Dr. Earon is a certified volunteer with the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Ocean County, a program affiliated with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension that supports Ocean County residents with expert gardening advice.
